Sunday 22 April 2012. It’s the day when the eyes of the triathlon world fall upon South Africa as Africa’s premier endurance event, the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa, makes its 8th appearance in Nelson Mandela Bay. Be sure not to miss out, enter today and be part of it!

While topping the list of holiday destinations with its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, sunny weather and of course the friendly people, South Africa also boasts Africa’s only Ironman events. The full distance Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa takes you through the coastal city of Port Elizabeth and is a firm favourite on the city’s event calendar. Since the inception of the full distance event in Port Elizabeth in 2005, the Ironman South Africa has grown into one of the best supported events on the Ironman circuit featuring over 45 000 spectators during race weekend.

Don’t forget about the side events on offer for your family and friends travelling with you – the Iron Girl South Africa ladies fun run leads in the weekend on Friday 20 April, while the Vodacom Corporate Triathlon Challenge (10% of the full Ironman distance) and Pritt IronKids South Africa take place on Saturday 21 April.

Late entries into the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa 2012 are still open until 23 March 2012 with late entry set at R4500 (approximately €443-00).

Register now for the African Ironman experience by visiting www.ironmansouthafrica.com. Entries are limited so be sure to snap up one of the few slots remaining and join the starters on Hobie Beach on Sunday 22 April 2012.02.15
