There will be more fun and laughter at the Eastern Province Child and Youth Care Centre (EPYCC) thanks to KFC Ironman 4 the Kidz.
Formerly known as EP Children’s Home, EPYCC is one of 11 youth charities to benefit from the R1,350,000 raised through the 2011 Ironman 4 the Kidz initiative.
With the monies received the home was able to complete some much needed roof repairs to the main building and fit out a new recreation room for the kids. This new area is equipped with 2 pool tables, table-tennis table, table soccer, air hockey, TV, sound system and an indoor mini gym that will help keep the children fit and healthy. A coffee bar will also be added shortly, to allow the families to visit and spend quality time with the kids.
“The recreation room will provide the children with an area where they can acquire sportsmanship and social skills” says Terry Hattingh the director of the EPYCC.
Garth Wright, Gary Stephenson, Paul Wolff and Keith Bowler - the trustees of the KFC Ironman 4 Kidz, presented the recreation room to the children and joined in games of pool, table soccer and table tennis.
