When and where is media accreditation?

Dates: Thursday, 19 April 2012 to Saturday, 21 April 2012
Times: 09:00 to 17:00
Place: Regatta Room, Beach Hotel

Where is the media centre?

The media centre will be in the Regatta Room at the Beach Hotel (back entrance). The media centre will be open from Thursday, 19 April, to Monday, 23 April:
Thursday to Saturday: 09:00 – 17:00
Sunday: 06:00 – 00:00
Monday: 09:00 – 13:00

When is the cut-off for online media registration?

Online media registration will close on the Monday at the beginning of race week (the Monday prior to the event). Thereafter, no more media registrations will be accepted, with no exceptions made and no correspondence will be entered into. The reason therefore is so that we can finalise the list of accredited media which will be sent out to them by Thursday prior to the event.

Can I bring someone along with me?

No, unfortunately no partners or any other individuals are allowed to receive media accreditation if they are not from a valid media organisation with a specific purpose at the race.

Which areas will I have access to?

You will have to specifically state the areas to which you would like access. These include the swim start, pier, along the course and the finish line. However, we cannot confirm that your request will be met 100% as we have to limit the number of media who are allowed access to these points. We will however try our best to meet your requests.

Can I get access to a bike, car or boat on race day?

Yes. However, once again you will have to specifically request this in the media registration form. There will be a strict schedule set up prior to the event on race day. Thus, please ensure that you request a bike, car or boat before the event and also that you arrive for the time you have been allocated. A schedule will be sent to all media who have registered for bike, car or boat access prior to the event (Thursday prior to event). If on race day you do not arrive for the time you have been allocated, the slot will be given to someone else on the reserve list and you will forfeit that access.
