OUR AIM

The aim of the KFC Ironman 4 the Kidz is to help and raise awareness of the plight of children who are less fortunate and often come from dysfunctional family backgrounds.
Improving these children’s lives and making their lives more meaningful is what it is all about.

BACKGROUND

In 2005 ex-Springbok, Garth Wright and business partner Gary Stephenson took on the challenge to raise funds for the kids of the Eastern Cape resulting in the formation of the Ironman 4 the Kidz Charity Trust.
In 2005 their goal was to raise R11 000 for the Eastern Province Child and Youth Care Centre and they would never have guessed that in 2011 they would be participating in the Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa for the 7th year with a target of 1.2 Million Rand.
But dreams can come true and due to tremendous support of the sponsors this goal was achieved.

HOW TO BECOME INVOLVED

The bulk of the funds raised for the Charity, come through the generous sponsorship of athletes at 2 events namely Spec-Savers Ironman 70.3 - East London and Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa. Companies come on board with a monetary sponsorship for participating athletes.
Participating companies can also reap the benefit of a tax relief for a percentage of their donation.

Secure a Sponsor

A company can sponsor an athlete in the event which will ensure that their branded company’s logo is placed on the athlete’s vest, offering great exposure of their brand during the event. Most companies will then extend their sponsorships to cover the athlete’s entrance fee.

Individual Contribution

Individuals and companies can also make cash donations to KFC Ironman 4 the Kidz. There is no limit to the amount you may contribute. All contributions received are accumulated and added to the final target for 2012.

CHARITY TRUST BENEFICIARIES

The Charity’s reach in 2005 was limited to one beneficiary, but to date the Trust has been able to extend their reach to 11 beneficiaries in 2011. The institutions that the Trust supports are struggling even more than usual with the downturn in the economy. The money collected is used mainly on education, counseling and sport advancement for the kids and all the indicated charities have benefitted from your support.
