RECORDS FALL in Nice / France this weekend

Enjoying near perfect race conditions, Marcel Zamora Perez and Tine Deckers both set course records in winning Ironman France today. For Spaniard Zamora Perez it was his fourth straight win in Nice, while Deckers became the first Belgian woman to claim an Ironman title.

Ironman 70.3 Registration is OPEN!

Welcome to the run up to the Ironman 70.3 SA and the first race on the Ironman 2010 calendar! The third edition of the Spec-Savers Ironman 70.3 South Africa is set for Sunday, 17 January 2010 and once again East London will host this exciting event. We have had a number of athletes waiting with baited breath for a chance to sign up. Registration - for both individuals and teams - has opened and we will be accepting entries up to midnight on the 8th November 2009.

IRONMAN 2010 SETS LIMIT ON NUMBER OF ENTRIES

Triangle South Africa, organizers of the Ironman events, have set a limit of 1800 entrants for the 2010 Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa which will be held for the sixth time in Port Elizabeth on the 25th April.

Austria IRONMAN 70.3 2009: The world champion wins in St. Pölten!

After an exciting day of racing Chris McCormack wins in 3:54:15, moments ahead of Marino Vanhoenacker at the 3rd Austria IRONMAN 70.3 in St. Pölten. Sandra Wallenhorst wins the women’s race in 4:28:46. The Austria IRONMAN 70.3 had an impressive list of PRO’s on the starting line, which included names like McCormack, Vanhoenacker and Wallenhorst. The number of entrants had quadruple in its third year and the race was set to fulfil everybody’s expectations of an all out day of extreme racing.

IRONMAN FRANCE THIS WEEKEND!

Ironman France will take place on the 28th of June 2009. It has reached the maximum number of registered people, for the second consecutive year, with an entries curve constantly on the increase over the passed three years. With a starting list of 1600 athletes for the first edition in 2005, Ironman France has continued to grow in notoriety, thanks in particular to the quality of the organization. The French triathlon will gather important people like Herve Faure, François Chabaud, Olivier Marceau and Alexandra Louison. They will be joined by the international celebrities like Marcel Zamora (SP) Oscar Galindez (ARG) and Karin Thuerig (SWI).

Sign up for the 2010 FinishLine Team

The FinishLine program is back and applications for the 2010 Team will be up and running soon. The program will be headed by Ironman Race Director, Biokinetisist and long time triathlete Paul Wolf and athletes will be coached by local pro triathlete Justin Gray. The goal when creating the FinishLine concept was to aid first time athletes or novice Ironman entrants in their pursuit of conquering one of the toughest days in sport.
