Welcome to the official web site for the
Spec-Savers Ironman South Africa Triathlon.

On the 19th March 2006, the second full distance Ironman was hosted in the magnificent metro of Nelson Mandela Bay, home to the only Ironman on the African continent. - this is the "Ironman of Africa". .

Scheduled to take place annually in  Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa. In 2007 it will be held on Sunday - 18th  March

This event has 30 qualifying slots that have been allocated to the Ford World Ironman Championships in Kona, Hawaii to be held in October 2007

The Triathlon entails:

•  3.8km Swim across the bay    
• 180km Cycle                           
• 42.2km Run (Full Marathon)

A portion of all proceeds from Triangle events is donated to the Tri for kids charity project.
